Application Procedure for Admission The following procedures outline the enrollment process for families currently in Tokyo. Applicants from overseas please contact our Admissions Coordinators Melissa and Madeleine directly.

Our office is generally open from 8am-4pm Monday through Friday.

1. We ask parents of prospective students to contact the school office to set up an appointment to observe the school with their child. School visits are available throughout the school year beginning in mid-September. We offer tours on weekdays by appointment only at 9:00am and 10:00am. If you are interested in either the Japanese/English dual immersion programs and would like to observe during a day when Japanese is spoken (Tuesdays or Thursdays for ages 3-5), please let us know so that we may schedule your tour appropriately.

2. During your tour, a member of our staff will guide you through our facility, allowing time for you and your child to observe your child's potential classroom. If parents and staff feel it is necessary, your child may be asked to visit again for observation in the classroom.

3. We ask that parents read and understand the Willowbrook philosophy and policies when considering Willowbrook for their child(ren). Our philosophy may be found on the Willowbrook website (http://www.willowbrookschool.com/philosophy.php). Parents will receive a Policy Booklet during their school visit.

4. If you decide you would like your child to attend Willowbrook, you will be asked to fill out an application and return it to the school.

5. We charge an application fee of 10,800yen per child.

6. Once a position for your child has been confirmed and upon receipt of the application fee, we will contact you for a short parent meeting to review some of our policies and answer any additional questions you may have.

At your initial school visit, Willowbrook will advise you of the current classroom availability and whether there is a waiting list. We accept applications throughout the year and enrollment is based on a first come first serve basis, however we do assign priority to current Willowbrook families and siblings.

As we understand that families may transfer in to or out of Tokyo during the school year, we continuously update our waitlist and stay in close contact with parents of prospective students.

Willowbrook believes strongly in maintaining an optimal student composition in each class to reflect an international learning environment and support the goals and objectives of each classroom. As such, your child's placement in a particular class will be based on his/her birthday, language background, and in some cases observation.
